We had truly such a fantastic experience working with Phil. From the beginning, he was competitive in pricing, came up with a fantastic design for a weirdly configured basement, and worked with us to tweak ideas to make the basement everything we wanted. Throughout the process, he remained in contact at all times so we knew what was happening at different points. Even when a couple of things went wrong, he made them right entirely on his own. Our basement is perfect for us and he also did a beautiful fireplace. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone and everyone in the area.

For context: I did not know Phil prior to contacting his business.
I spent several years in the trades, which has made me a perfectionist about any kind of construction or remodeling. That said, Phil and the Basement Company North get a solid A+. The job they did finishing our 2000 sq ft. basement and my experience with them could not be better.
From initial communication and ongoing accessibility to Phil, the design process, permitting, job site management, attention to detail, extremely high quality of work, inspections, to the final cleaning, everything was done with excellence. And all of this happened remotely for us from 1,200 miles away!
Phil was very flexible accommodating some midstream upgrades (painting, shower doors, audio wiring, carpet, etc.). He is extremely knowledgable and resourceful and his suggestions proved to be invaluable. Overall, we received a solid value for what we paid—and no headaches!

We hired Phil, Seth and team to finish our ~1,500sqft basement and have nothing but positive things to say about the entire process. On-time, on-budget (competitive pricing), good quality work and solid subs, and passed every inspection first try without issue. The basement turned out even better than we imagined!
They walked us through the initial design with multiple iterations to land on the perfect layout, then moved through each milestone without a hiccup. They were clean and 95% of the time came through the basement window so hardly even noticed they were here.

Phil, Seth and the team did such an amazing job transforming our basement! As our first major home project, we were initially uneasy about diving into a big remodel but Phil made everything clear and we were involved every step of the way. The whole experience felt more personalized than I think we would’ve gotten with one of the “big guys”. They accommodated some design tweaks along the way, were always quick to respond to calls/texts with questions, and always let us know what was happening next. We were very impressed by the quality of their work and the skill of all the trades involved.
As an avid homebrewer, the special part of our project was building out a brewery space for me and they crushed it! It was a unique challenge for the crew and a dream come true for me.

Best experience ever! Owner Phil Woodward met with us, surveyed our unfinished basement and listened intently to our wishes. Then asked questions about our thoughts on design ideas of his. He incorporated all of our wants plus added his expertise in designing the finished basement. He provided computer modeled options and associated costs within our budget for us to choose from. He stayed within budget both with costs and timing to finish, communicating via phone and in person throughout the project. We couldn’t be happier with the results!!!
